This project began in the aftermath of the 2006 tsunami when scholarship funds were set up to provide educational support for children orphaned by the tragedy. While the tsunami orphans no longer need our support, the club continues to provide scholarships for poor students from grade school to university supplementing the support they receive from the state. At present 28 students, including 4 medical students receive monthly stipends which supplement state educational support. Altogether over 600 children have benefited from this programme.
